Bill Chambless Buried Monday
Funeral services were held Monday at the Spur Church of Christ for William Andrew Chambless, 51.Mr. Chambless died in Houston, May 11 following an illness of about six weeks.
Vernon Williams, minister of the Spur Church of Christ officiated at the services assisted by C.V. Allen.
Mr. Chambless had been a resident of Dickens county for 28 years. He married Miss Beulah Inez Stubbs in Mangum, Ok. In 1931. He came to Dickens county in 1934. He was a barber by trade.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Doris Ann Hardin, Alice, TX, Mrs. Ada Lou Baird, Post; Mrs. Wanda Hancock, Plainview; one brother, Francis, Ralls; one half-brother, Billy Joe Chambless, of Snyder and one sister, Lou G. Munden, Madison, Wisc.
Eight grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers were T.L. Conaway, Vernon Wright, Odis Cash, Louis Williams, S.C. Reynolds, and Louis Arnold.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
