Estella �Star� Mesa Casias, 55 went home on March 14, 2015 in Lubbock, Texas. Star was born on October 8, 1959 to her loving parents Oralia and Carlos Mesa Sr. in Spur, Texas. She married Leandro Casias on August 10, 2002, in Brownfield, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parent Oralia and Carlos Mesa Sr., her brother Carlos Mesa Jr. and sisters; Adelaida and Manuelita Mesa.
She is survived by her son Alvin Lee Barrera, her husband Leandro Casias, her sisters Ylda Sproles, Olga Mesa Pinon, Andrea Sides, Martha Mesa, Margarita Mesa, and Rosa Martinez, her nephews and nieces Lalo Davila, Mikey Davila, Oralia Jara, Candace Sproles, Sara Davila, Alyson Mesa-Castello, Laura Garcia, Cameron Sides, Stephen Vinyard, Nicholas Sides and Alexis Valdez and 14 Grand nephews and nieces and two very special friends, Bradley �Daddy� Rodgers and David Acevedo.
She loved her son most of all. Star loved spending time with her family and doing for others. She was giving, loved making people laugh, going to garage sales and playing Loteria. She had many friends. She will be greatly missed but will be our �Bright and Shining Star� forever.
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at St. Mary�s Catholic Church at 7:00pm, A closed casket service will be held at St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Spur, Texas on Wednesday, March 18,2015 at 2:00 PM. Pastors Fr. Tersito Pasqueo and Fr. Martin Pena officiating under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home. Star will be laid to rest following the service at the Spur Memorial Cemetery.
