Funeral services were held for Mrs. Edgar Carlisle at Spur Cemetery Tuesday at 3:30. Rev. R.C. Brown conducted the service.
Mrs. Carlisle had been ill for several years before death, which occurred early Tuesday morning at her home at Duck Creek.
Nannie Mitchell was born in Lampasas County, TX Sept. 25, 1880. She moved with her family to Motley county, where she was married to Edgar Carlisle at Matador, TX May 3, 1905. One child who died in infancy was born to this union.
In 1910 Mr. And Mrs. Carlisle moved to Dickens county, living at Afton for about 3 years, then moved to Girard for a few years resettling in Duck Creek community. Mrs. Carlisle was converted and affiliated with the Church of Christ in 1930.
Surviving are the husband, Edgar Carlisle and two brothers, Marion Mitchell of Lamesa and Matt Mitchell of Roswell, NM.
Pallbearers were Emmett Hagins, Walter Driggers, Omer Higgins, Fred T. Ramey, Vernon Gregory and J.T. Carlisle.
Flower bearers were Mrs. Orville Boothe, Minnie Mae Higgins, Mrs. Lillian Arnold, and Miss Frankie Johnson. Relatives here from out of town were Mr. And Mrs. John Carlisle, Mr. And Mrs. John H. Carlisle, Mr. And Mrs. Omer Higgins, and Frank Higgins, Lubbock; M/M Matt Mitchell , Mrs. Brubaugh, Roswell; M/M Marion Mitchell, Lamesa; Mrs. Alma Mitchell, Littlefield, and W.A. Carlisle, of San Angelo.

Andrews (Special) - J.E. Carlisle, 86, an Andrews resident seven years, died Sunday evening at a local hospital.A native of Collins County, Carlisle had lived in Spur and Denver City.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Hobert of Odessa; a daughter, Mrs. Wanda Weatherby of Andrews; four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Stephens, Mrs. Lou Hagins and Mrs. Samantha Smith, all of Jayton, and Mrs. Laura Swaringen of Spur; a brother, Charlie of Houston, and one grandchild.
Services are pending with Singleton Funeral Home.
