Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 29, for Willie Moore Calvert, 33 year resident of Dickens County; who died Saturday, Nov. 27.He was born in Erath county in July, 1896, and moved to this county in 1916. He married Thelma Groves in 1919 at Roaring Springs.
At the time of his death he was a member of the Foreman´s Chapel Methodist Church.
Rev. Cal C. Wright officiated at the services with the assistance of Rev. T.M. Morton of White Flat.
Pallbearers were Cleston Pritchett, J.R. Cole, R.D. Wright, Kenneth Coursey, Coy Dopson and Dan Pritchett. Honorary pallbearers were Lon Bass, Ivey McMahan, Ellis Draper and Murl Foreman.
Interment was in the Spur cemetery with Chandler´s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma Calvert of Spur; six daughters, Mrs. Dorothy O. Kissinger, Mrs. Mildred Morris, Mrs. Melba Reast, Strelsa and Mary Jo Calvert of Spur; three sons, Billy J. and Leland of Spur and Jerry of Camp Hanford, Washington. Also his mother, Mrs. Hettie Calvert.

Services for Thelma Calvert Harris, 90, of Arlington, were Friday, June 26, 1992 at 1 p.m. at Franklin-Bartley Chapel with Rev. J.L. Bass, a retired Baptist minister, officiating.Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Friday at Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home, Lubbock.
Mrs. Harris died Wednesday about 1:54 p.m. in Methodist Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Coleman and was a former resident of Spur. She married Bill Calvert in 1919 in Roaring Springs. He died in November of 1954. She then married Turner Harris in 1962 in Spur. He died in June of 1967. She was a nurse and a member of the Hillcrest Park Baptist Church in Arlington.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Leland Calvert, Victoria; Jerry Calvert, Pendleton, OR; a step-son, Truman Harris, Hobbs, NM; six daughters, Dorothy Smallin, Arlington; Mildred Morris, El Paso; Melba Reast, Littlefield; Jean Hamblet, Grand Prairie; Strelsa Green, Roswell, NM and Mary Jo Williams, Lubbock; one step-daughter, Neva Bostick, Spur; 23 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Billy J. Calvert in 1988 and William R. Greene in 1990 and one daughter, Helen Gwenldon Calvert in 1943.
Grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers included Bill Baker and Alton Amons.
The family suggests memorials to Bacon Heights Baptist Church in Lubbock.
