Obituary

Gladys Inez Brown, resident of Spur, passed away April 25, at 6 a.m. in Aransas Pass, Texas. She was a former resident of Croton.

Mrs. Brown was born August 8, 1893 in Moulton, Texas and married E.A. Brown in 1913. They were wed in a ceremony held in Lott, Texas.

She has resided in Dickens County for fifteen years and holds membership in the Friendship Baptist Church in Croton.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brown are pending.

Funeral services were held Thursday, at 10 a.m. in Campbell Funeral Chapel for Elzie Arthur Brown, 76, a retired Dickens farmer. He died September 10 in Lubbock.

Rev. R.D. Baldwin, First Baptist Church, Earth, officiated.

Mr. Brown had been a resident of Dickens County since 1941. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include five daughters Mrs. John Freudenrich, Mrs. Waymon Hill, Mrs. Norman Arnold, Mrs. Walter Nuemann, Mrs. B.T. Sullivan; three sons, J.W. Brown, Roy Brown, William Brown; two sisters, Mrs. Gene Garrett and Mrs. Maggie Aday; two brothers, Bob Brown and Clair Brown. 16 grandchildren and four great great grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers include Chas. Paul Harris, Vernon Harris, Sam Braly, Horace Hyatt, Leon Greer, R.B. Walsworth.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
