Obituary

Funeral services for Opal Emma Brashear, 81, were held September 24 at 2 p.m. in Campbell Funeral Chapel with Doug Williams, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating.

Mrs. Brashear died September 23 in Community Hospital, Lubbock, following a lengthy illness. She resided in Spur from 1940 to 1962 before moving to Lubbock. Her husband, Eugene Allen Brashear, died in 1955. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Gene Brashear and Dale Brashear, both of Lubbock; one daughter, Lanell Pitts, Farmington, NM; one grandson and two great-grandsons.

Pallbearers included Lloyd Hindman, Arner Watson, Flavious Alexander, Mansell Bragg, Gwyn Long, and Ronnie White.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
