Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Dickens, Monday afternoon, November 17, at 4 o'clock for Chesley Wood Bostick, 66, who died at his home near Dickens Monday. Rev. A.P. Stokes, pastor of Dickens Baptist Church, officiated at the services.Mr. Bostick, who had been ill since March, was born September 4, 1881 at New Market, Ala., and was married to Miss Grace Means in Elsworth, Oklahoma in 1904, and moved to Dickens County in 1927 where they have made their home since. He was converted at the age of 27 and was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Murray Lea, Lilburn Delisle, John Sharp, Jon Blakely, Alvis Bilberry and Bill Hammel.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Bostick; three sons, L.M. Bostick of Mineola; Frank H. Bostick of Dickens, and Ray Gene Bostick of Spur; three daughters, Mrs. L.C. Camp of Buckeye, New Mexico, Mrs. O.L. Dewees and Mrs. Ray Caplinger of Spur. One son, Wayne Bostick, preceded his father in death in 1939.
One brother survives, T.A. Bostick of Plainview and two sisters, Mrs. William Lauderdale of Plainview and Mrs. Anna Greenfield of Fresno, California.
All were present for the funeral with the exception of Mrs. Greenfield, who was unable to attend.
Interment was in the Spur Cemetery.
