Funeral for Bostic Held Here Friday Afternoon

Death from gunshot wounds, chosen perhaps from a year of frequent intervals of suffering, claimed Clifton Wayne Bostic Thursday, August 3, about 9:30 a.m. Brothers of the boy stated that he had been troubled with high blood pressure, often enduring extreme pain, but that dietary plans followed had given hope of his recovery.

Bostic was a native Texan. He was born in Lipan, Hood County, on the 2nd of November, 1911. At the age of 12 years he made confession of his religious faith at Dothan, Texas, and was united with the Baptist Church. In 1927 he came with his family to Dickens county, and throughout the years made his home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Bostic, farming as a vocation, and making many friends with his affable disposition.

On August 3, 1936, Wayne was married to Miss Ruby Mae Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith, Rev. Clarence Coffman performing the ceremony at his Dry Lake home. From this union are two children.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Spur Baptist church, Rev. J.V. Bilberry speaking the last rites over the bier to a vast throng of family friends.

Survivors are the widow and two children; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Bostic; three brothers, L.M. Bostic of Mineloa, TX; R.G. and Herman, of Spur; three sisters, Mrs. L.C. Camp, Hobbs, NM; Mrs. Lee Deweese, Stamford, and Miss Wanda, of the family home.

Interment was made in Spur cemetery under direction of Ward Funeral Home staff.

Pallbearers were Olla Miller, Ellis Draper, Charlie McMahan, Loyd Hickman, Joe Kidd. Archer Powell, and L.L. Delisle.

Flower girls were Iva Smith, Mary Helen Draper, Cleo Smith, Betty Jo Miller, Ruth Hindman, and Lily Fern Delisle.
