Garvie Reese Boothe, 74, retired farmer, died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Betty Kearney, Spur.Funeral services were held for Mr. Boothe on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Spur Church of Christ. B.C. Stapleton, Lubbock, and Don Williams, Lubbock officiated.
Mr. Boothe had been a resident of Dickens County since a child. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Johnnie Boothe, Spur; two daughters: Mrs. Nell Goddard, Waco; and Mrs. Betty Kearney, Spur; one sister, Mrs. Lee Randall, Ft. Worth; and two half sisters, Mrs. Charles Sonnamaker, Spur and Mrs. Grace Thomason, Dickens; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Arner Watson, Wayne Bishop, Woodie McArthur, Jr.; Orwin Stephesn, Vernon Harris, Lloyd Hinson.
Burial was in the Spur cemetery.

Funeral services for Johnnie M. Boothe, 81, Abilene, formerly of Spur were held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Highway 70 church of christ. Richard Trull, minister, officiated, assisted by B.C. Stapleton, Lubbock.Mrs. Boothe died February 11 about 2 p.m. in Humana Hospital, Abilene. Born in Runnels County September 19, 1904, she married Garvie Boothe in Portales, NM on February 26, 1920. He died in June of 1976. She came to Spur as a young child and lived here most of her life. A homemaker, she was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Nelta Goddard, Waco and Betty Morgan, Abilene; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One son, Troy, preceded her in death in 1966.
Pallbearers included Fred Neaves, Ben Loe, Ronnie White, Arlie Ramage, Dan Robertson and Nig Wyatt.
Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
