NELDA JOYCE BOONE, 82, of Mineral Wells, passed away May 26, 2017 in Mineral Wells. She was born July, 6. 1934, in Spur, TX the daughter of Clyde and Lena Garland Horn. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 1at the Baum-Carlock Bumgardner Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at the Spur Cemetery in Spur, TX.
Nelda lived in Spur, TX until she moved to Mineral Wells in 1958. She married Chad Boone in 1962 and was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church. She moved to Spur in 1991 and back to Mineral Wells in 2007. She was a secretary for a Mineral Wells Insurance agency for many years and in 1963 became a stay-at-home mom.
Survivors include her sons, Bradley Boone of Mineral Wells and Keith Boone and wife Kathy of Pampa; brother, Jim Bob Horn and wife Barbara of Spur; grandson, Seth Boone of Pampa and granddaughter Kali James of Amarillo; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by a God-daughter, Tiffany Lyons of Littlefield and her best friend, Jean Bolf of Ft. Worth.
