Tractor Mishap Fatal To Spur Youth Monday

Funeral services for Joe Wallace Bingham, 18, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church.

The Spur youth died in Lubbock Monday night while he was being prepared for an emergency operation. He had been severely injured when a tractor he was driving overturned and crushed him. He was trying to pull a pickup tuck out of a field.

Rev. William McReynolds will officiate at the service. He will be assisted by Rev. John Jenkins.

The mishap took place about 6:15 p.m. four and one-half miles northwest of Spur. The boy died about 9:45 p.m.

Survivors listed include his mother, Mrs. Rachel Bingham, Spur; and an uncle, Wallace Bingham, Houston.

Pallbearers will include Dempsey Sims, Alex Ringhafer, Orville Lindsey, Throckmorton; Tom Farley, Dickens, B.E. (Cotton) Barclay. Honorary pallbearers will be classmates. Burial in Spur.
