Services Are Held for Newton Bingham

Last services were conducted for George Newton Bingham Tuesday, June 23 at the Methodist Church. Rev. Victor Crabtree officiated, assisted by Rev. Cal C. Wright.

Bingham was born October 21, 1912 in Kent County. He was burned to death June 21, 1953 in his home.

He was married to Julie Hickman at Carlsbad, N.M. on November 26, 1951. At present they were living on the Matador Ranch near Matador.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Joe Wallace, his mother, Mrs. Rachel Bingham, a long-time resident of Spur and one brother, Wallace Bingham.

Pallbearers were Don Ramsey, Hunter Wilson, Alec Fry, Dutch Hinds, Eric Swenson, Clarence Foreman, Buck Sadler, Cliff Byrd and Jack Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers were John Bell Beggs, Joe Bailey Kimmel, G.W. Grimes, O.Hart, Claude Drennon, Jack Patton, Charlie Arrington, Ted Walden, V.B. Cook, Joe Jefers, Cotton Barclay, Raymond McCombs, Cleo Murray, John Stotte, Matador Ranch employees and Shag Moudy.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Campbell's Funeral Chapel.
