Services for Doyle Bingham, 80, of Lubbock, were at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2001 in W.W. Rix Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Cotton officiating. Michael Bruce Bingham will also participate. Burial followed graveside services at 3:00 p.m. in Spur Memorial Cemetery and will be under the direction of Rix Funeral Home Directors.
Bingham died Tuesday, May 22, 201 at his residence. He was born in Aspermont, March 14, 1921 and graduated from Spur High School before entering the U.S. Air Force. Following his discharge, he was employed by Swift and Company in Lubbock and Amarillo. Later, he became self employed as a barber. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Adult II Men´s Sunday School Class, and the Open Heart Club of the Southwest. He married Betty Mackey in Lubbock, January 10, 1953.
Bingham was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosie Friels, Bea Steele and Iona Thomasson and two brothers. Albert N. "Abb" Bingham and Thomas Bingham.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; three brothers, V.F. "Bing" Bingham and Roger Bingham, both of Lubbock, and Billy Dan Bingham of Spur; five nieces and eight nephews.
