Virgil Bilbrey Died Sunday, March 20
Virgil Bilbrey, 25 died at his home here Sunday afternoon, March 20, following a brief illness of pneumonia. He had contracted influenza the Saturday preceding and by Wednesday had developed pneumonia which resulted in his death on Sunday. he is survived by his wife, who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Parks, and an infant baby girl.Virgil is a son of Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Bilbrey, a pioneer family of this section of West Texas. He was born at Clipper in Kent County, March 1, 1907, but moved with his family to this county at an early age and has lived here practically all his life. The large gathering which assembled here to pay the last tribute of respect attested to the love and esteem in which he was held by his many friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church by the pastor, F.G. Rodgers and Rev. J.V. Bilberry. Interment followed in Spur cemetery directed by Weber Williams.
Other surviving members of his family, all of whom were in attendance, are 3 brothers, J.T. Bilbrey of this city, Clarence and Murell Bilbrey of San Diego, CA and 3 sisters, Ms. Oleta Self, Mrs. Mamie Weaver and Ms. Thelma Morrison all of this county.
