Area Soldier Killed In Automobile Wreck

U.S.Flag Sgt. Cloyce Bilberry, 21, who had returned about a month ago from overseas service and was stationed at Camp Chaffee, AR, was killed Sunday in an automobile accident near Mena, AR, the parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Bilberry of Lubbock route 1, were notified.

He had served two years with the medical corps with a base on Okinawa, accompanying wounded soldiers to hospitals. He also served one year in the Italian theater.

Further details of the accident had not been learned by the parents this morning.

The body is to be taken to Chandler Funeral home at Spur, where the parents formerly lived. Funeral arrangements had not been completed this morning.

Survivors in addition to the parents, include two sisters, Ona Gayle, 12, student in Roosevelt Rural High school, and Mrs. E.M. Irby of 3405 E. Sixteenth in Lubbock.

The family had moved from Spur to Roosevelt community about a year ago.
