 Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist church for Martin Norlin Berry, 53, who has served in the Merchant Marine for 30 years.

He died Oct. 29 in CA. Rev. Charles Gates, pastor of the First Methodist church officiated; he was assisted by Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor of First Baptist Church.

Mr. Berry came to Dickens County some 50 years ago.

He is survived by his father, Babe Berry, Spur; two sisters, Margaret Baker, Lubbock and Mona Mae Bateman, Spur.

Burial was in Spur cemetery.
