I was born in Lubbock, Texas, on December 3, 1949, to Robert Cecil Green and Theatus Laverne Rogers Green. The first twelve years of my life were spent at the Humble Camp, fifteen miles from Guthrie, Texas. We moved to Spur in 1962, where I attended the Junior High and Senior High Schools. After graduation in 1968, I attended McMurry College in Abilene, Texas. I studied art for three years, moved to Arlington in 1971, and on to Denton in 1972. There I met my husband, William Foster Bell, Jr. We were married at his parents´ home on October 9, 1976 in Denton. Bill´s father is William Foster Bell, Sr., and his mother is Elizabeth Ruth Boles Bell. His parental grandparents are Willie Perkins Bell, Jr. and Alice Wilhelmina Foster Bell. His maternal grandparents are Dr. J. Hoytt Boles, Sr. and Ruth Walker Boles. Our first home was between Denton and Aubrey, where our first child, a daughter, Seneca Lynn Bell was born. Our sons are Robert Green Bell and Thomas Bryant Bell.
We now live in Denton. Bill is a projects manager for CBS Mechanical, and I stay busy taking care of our home and the children. My hobbies are photography and portrait painting. Bill plays the banjo and is teaching Seneca to play the mandolin.
Sometimes I get homesick when I am driving to Dallas...when another driver waves. I remember everyone waves in Dickens County. When we attend a parade, the spirit of Spur´s homecomings with all the floats and high school band fills me with pride, and I wish I were there.
Once Bill and I were driving from Dickens to Spur, and we saw the most beautiful double rainbow. Now when the prism in my window casts a rainbow across the room...I think of home.
