Joe BellGraveside services for Joe Neil Bell will be 11:00 am, Monday August 24, 2009 at Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur, TX, officiated by Leland Maples. In addition, a Celebration of Joe's life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday September 5, 2009 at Life Change Baptist Church, 1000 North Texas Ave, Odessa, TX, officiated by Leland Maples. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

Joe was born in Spur, TX on March 17, 1935 to William Alexander and Annie Bell. Joe went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the age of 74.

Joe's first love was God. He loved helping and mentoring the fellow men that have walked down his path. He was employed with CRS and has worked in the Recovery Field since his sobriety on July 15, 1970. He married the love of his life, Donna Rae Ross on November 15, 1991 in Odessa, TX.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Billy D. Bell, and two sisters: Weldon Hutto and Winifred Barrett.

Survivors include his wife: Donna of the home; daughters: Galynn Gamble and husband Terry of Colorado City, TX, Jan Brady and husband Michael of Plano, TX, Linda Hollingsworth of Abilene, TX; step-daughters: Shelly Copeland and husband Danny of Loop, TX, Sonya Brown and husband Rey of Odessa, TX and a chosen daughter: Susan Benton of Midland, TX; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen grandchildren; one brother: R.J. Bell of Spur, TX; five nieces and four nephews.
