Obituary
S.M. Baker died Tuesday Morning
Samuel M. Baker, who suffered a paralytic stroke Tuesday of last week, died at 8:25 Thursday morning at the Spur Hospital where he was taken following the stroke. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon at the family residence four and one-half miles N. of Spur with Rev. J. Melvin Jones officiating. Interment followed in Spur Cemetery with Webber Williams in charge.Mr. Baker was born in Columbia, KY, Oct. 8, 1859. He moved to Hillsboro, TX in 1888 where he lived before moving to Dickens Co. two years after the world war. He was as very successful farmer and was a member of the Methodist Church at Foreman´s chapel, taking active part.
Survivors are his wife and seven children; F.W., R.E., Miss Fleeta Baker, Delmer Baker, L.K. Mrs. J.C. Simmons of Weatherford, Mrs. M.F. Mason of Big Sandy and Mildred of Spur.
