Services for Ora Dell Baker, 81, of Spur were Friday, June 12, 1998 at the First Baptist Church in Spur. Larry McWilliams of Texarkana and Rev. Richard Harbison, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

Mrs. Baker died Tuesday, June 9th at the Spur Care Center. She was born September 17, 1916 in Spur. She married Preston Baker October 24, 1932 in Spur. She lived most of her life in Dickens County. She was a Methodist.

Survivors include her husband, Preston Baker, Spur; two sons, Johnny Baker, Chickasha, OK; Danny Baker, Spur; two daughters, Betty McWilliams, Spur; Susan Ford, Keller; one brother, Bill Gannon, Goodland, KS; three sisters, Virginia Stumbo, Carlsbad, NM; Mae Bingham, Lubbock; Thelma Fletcher, Bangs; nine grandchildren and nine great, grandchildren.

Graveside services for Preston Baker, 93, of Chickasha, OK, formerly of Spur, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004 at Spur Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Larry McWilliams officiating. Services are under the direction of Campbell Fuenral Home in Spur. He died Thursday, March 11, 2004 in Chickasha

Mr. Baker was born Oct. 24, 1910 in Jack Co., Texas to Willie and Bette Loper Baker. He married Ora Dell Gannon on October 24, 1931 in Dickens.

She preceded him in death on June 9, 1998. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during WWII in the European Theatre. He was a charter member of the Spur VFW. He was a retired truck driver.

One daughter, one son, two sisters, three grandsons and one great grandchild also preceded him in death.

He is survived by one son, Johnny Baker of Chickasha, OK; two daughters, Susan Ford of Keller and Betty McWilliams of Spur; three brothers, Leonard Baker of Plainview, Arvil Baker of Bracketville and W.T. Baker of Las Cruces, NM; one sister, Bobbie Strickland of Frisco; 8 grandchildren, 11 great granchildren and 2 great reat grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Donald Baker, Tim Baker, Clint Thompson, David Hoover, John Stroup and Paul Beard.

The family suggests memorials to Spur Memorial Cemetery Assn., Box 111, Spur, TX 79370.
