Lela Mae BakerLela Mae Baker, 81 passed away on December 6, 2011 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born in Calvert, Texas on August 14, 1930 to Herman and Ruby Phillips Ussery.

Lela Mae Baker is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alvin Baker of Spur, Texas. She is also survived by three children; two sons Bobby Baker and wife Cindy of Spur, Texas; and Jimmy Baker and wife Cheryl of Amarillo, Texas; and one daughter, Carol Baker of Spur, Texas. She also has four sisters; Jaunita Baker and Rose Broadhead both of Snyder, Texas; Bobbie Jo Krejei of New Braunfuls, Texas and Polly Cornelius of Houston, Texas and one brother Tommy Ussery of Houston, Texas. She was also blessed with four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Lela Mae was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Ruby Ussery as well as six sisters and one brother.

Services for Lela Mae Baker will be Friday December 9, 2011 at the First Methodist Church in Spur, Texas at 2:00 p.m. with Larry Burton officiating and assisted by Bob Wright under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Spur Memorial Cemetery.

Alvin BakerAlvin Baker, 90 passed away on December 16, 2011 in Crosbyton, Texas. He was born in Wickes, Arkansas on January 1, 1921 to Jesse Burl and Rena Cornelius Baker. He married Lela Mae Ussery on August 7, 1946.

Alvin Baker is also survived by three children; two sons Bobby Baker and wife Cindy of Spur, Texas; and Jimmy Baker and wife Cheryl of Amarillo, Texas; and one daughter, Carol Baker of Spur, Texas. Alvin is also survived by one brother Roy Baker of Snyder, Texas. He was also blessed with four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Alvin loved to play the guitar and he served our country during WWII where he was decorated with a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Lela Mae Baker on December 6, 2011 and his parents Jesse Burl and Rena Baker.

Services for James Alvin Baker will be Monday December 19, 2011 at the First Assembly of God Church in Spur, Texas at 10:00 a.m. with Bob Wright officiating and assisted by Larry Burton under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Spur Memorial Cemetery.
