Funeral services for Mrs. Era Launa Baird, 61, longtime Dickens County resident, were held at 5 p.m., August 7, in First Baptist Church, with Rev. J.C. Skruggs officiating, assisted by Rev. Cal C. Wright.

Mrs. Baird was born March 11, 1888, in Alexander City, Ala., and was converted in early life with the Baptist Church. She died August 5, 1949.

Pallbearers were Marion Jourdan, Barney Yeakley, Clatyon Willis, John Willis, Fred Kinney and Buck Carlisle.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Baird; one daughter, Verona Lawrence, Grand Saline; six sons, Randolph, Jackson and Russell East, and Bobbie Grice, all of Spur; Howard East and Woodie Grice of Hawthorne, Nev. Several brothers and sisters in Alabama, 12 grandchildren and several step children also survive.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery with Campbell's Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
