Obituary

SPUR (Special) Services for Raymond E. Bailey, 70, of Spur, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Spur Church of Christ with Kenneth Averett of Vinton, Ark., officiating.

Burial will be in Spur Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Bailey died at noon Wednesday at South Park Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.

The Motley County native married Lelia Lee Erath Dec. 14, 1936, in Spur. The couple had lived in Dickens County since 1930. Bailey was a retired farmer and a member of Spur Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Howard of Valley City, ND, and Rafel of Sweeney; a sister, Lillian Rape of Spur; eight grandchildren; three daughters, Jo Ann Young and Lillian Howell of Lake Jackson and Margaret Asbill of San Angelo; and a great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. for Leila Lee Bailey, 66, at the Highway 70 church of Christ. Kenneth Averitt, Benton, Arkansas, will be officiating.

Mrs. Bailey was pronounced dead due to natural causes at her home in Spur on November 18 about 12:15 p.m. by Justice of the Peace, Woodie McArthur.

Born Leila Lee Erath in Dickens County on November 16, 1918, she married Raymond E. Bailey on December 14, 1936. He died November 26, 1980. She had lived most of her life in Dickens County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by three daughters, Jo Ann Young, Margaret Asbill and Lillian Howell all of Lake Jackson; one brother, Geroge Erath, Spur and eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Carl Grantham, Dwight Dillashaw, Ed Dillashaw, Ray Faubus, Jack Young and Ted Young.

Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
