Charles AustinCharles Dickie Austin, 68, of Spur died Friday, December 8, 2006 at his residence. Services were 3 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2006 at Hwy. 70 Church of Christ in Spur. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mr. Austin was born February 28, 1938 in Lehman County, Texas to Veto and Aleene Austin. He married Elizabeth �Liz� Turner on June 29, 1958 at the Pitchfork ranch in King County. He farmed and ranched for many years before going to work for South Plains Electric where he retired in 2005. He had served on the school boards at Guthrie and Patton Springs.

Dickie was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, one sister and one grandson. He is survived by his wife of Spur; two sons, Bret Austin and wife Reena of Lubbock, and Russell Austin and wife Caro of Andrews; one daughter, Pam Buckner and husband Jim of Bayard, NB; five grandsons, two granddaughters and one great-grandson.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock, P.O. Box 53276, Lubbock, TX 79453 or Covenant Home Health, 328 Burlington, Spur, TX 79370.
