Obituary

SPUR — Services for Billie Joe Austin, 73, of Spur were at 11 a.m. Saturday December 2, 2000 at the Campbell Funeral Home Chapel in Spur with Van Cash officiating. Burial was in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

He died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Crosbyton Hospital. He was born July 2, 1927, in Kalgary. He married Mickey Waltz on April 4, 1951, in Walden, Ark. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force in World War II and a machine tool repairman for General Dynamics for several years before moving to Spur in 1973.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Jo Ann Austin in 1945

Survivors include his wife, Mickey; one son, Ron Austin of Spur; one daughter, Gail Austin of Spur; and one brother, Dickie Austin of Spur.

SPUR — Services for Mickey Beatrice Austin, 75, of Spur will be at 10 a.m. today at Campbell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Henderson officiating.

Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

She died Sunday, May 6, 2001, in Crosbyton.

She was born Nov. 17, 1925. She married Billie Joe Austin on April 4, 1952, in Walden, Ark. He died Nov. 29, 2000. She graduated from high school in Long Beach, Calif. After graduation, she worked in the ship yards as a burner.

Survivors include a son, Ronald of Spur; a daughter, Gail of Spur; a brother, Harry Waltz of Bakersville, Calif.; and a sister, Geneva Johnson of Texarkana.
