Obituary

Funeral services for James Alfred Alexander, 68, of White River Lake, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Darwin Cox, officiating.

Mr. Alexander died at his home about 1:45 p.m. on November 25. Death by natural causes was ruled by Crosbyton Justice of the Peace, Clyde Davis.

Born December 10, 1915 in Breckenridge, he had lived in the Kalgary Community most of his life. He was a farmer and rancher. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the VFW and the Baptist Church.

He married the former Inez Turbyfill on March 14, 1942 in Jacksboro.

Survivors include Inez Alexander, White River Lake; two sons, Jimmie Don Alexander, Trinidad, Colorado; Charles A. Alexander, Calera, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sharlia Upton, Lubbock; one brother, Frank Alexander, Breckenridge; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Isbell, Orange and Mrs. Elizabeth Angel, Albany; five grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Fred Humble, R.G. Havens, W.C. Havens, Stanley Degan, Chris Berry and Randy Freudenrich.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Services for Flora Inez Alexander of Spur, were at 3:00 p.m. Friday, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Spur. Rev. Tommy Henderson officiated. Burial was in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Alexander died Wednesday, July 16, 1997 at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

She was born May 31, 1924 in Dickens County. She lived in Dickens County most of her life. She married James Alfred Alexander March 14, 1942 in Jacksboro, TX. He preceded her in death November 25, 1984. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Myrtle Ward, Spur; Special love, Wallace Day, Spur; two sons, Jimmie Don Alexander, Palmer, TX and Charles A. Alexander, Calera, OK; one daughter, Sharlia Upton, Lubbock; one brother, Dean Turbyfill, Athens; one sister, Eleece Morrow, San Angelo; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
