Heart Attack Is Fatal To J.O. Adcock
A former superintendent of the Spur Water Dept., Julius Orlando Adcock, died last week at the age of 71.
Adcock served as Water Dept. Supt. for 10 years, and was employed by the City for 24 years.
Funeral services were held at the Foursquare Church on June 22, 1957. Rev. J.E. Lee, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Spur Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge.
Born in Texarkana, Arkansas on April 23, 1886, Adcock came to Dickens County in 1924. He died of a heart attack, June 20, 1957. Survivors include his wife, Verda Adcock, 8 children: C.E.[Charles Edward], Ruby McKay, R.R.[Rawleigh], [Alvis]Pete, Ann Porter, Jo Adcock, Mrs. Ernest[Nina] Eller and Cecil Wayne.
