Obituary

Services for Roy D. Wright, 75, Spur will be held at 2 p.m. January 26, in the First Baptist Church. Dr. Genoa Goad, church pastor, will officiate.

Wright died at his home in Spur about 8:55 a.m. January 23. County Judge Woodie McArthur ruled death due to natural causes.

A retired farmer, he was born Febraury 16, 1913 in Cleburne. He had resided most of his life in Dickens County. He married Marie Earls in Jayton on November 14, 1932. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Wright, Spur; one son, Bill Wright, Las Cruces, NM; two daughters, Joyce Washburn, Odessa and Wanda Wright, Spur; three brothers, Vernon Wright and Elmer Wright, both of Spur and Paul Wright, Seguin; three sisters, Elsie Walace, Modesto, CA; Inez Massey and Pauline Holmes, both of Big Spring; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Burial was in Red Mud Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Marie Wright photo SPUR — Graveside services for Marie Wright, 87, of Spur will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Red Mud Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Harbison officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

She died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002.

She was born Nov. 28, 1914, in Brady. She moved to Spur when she was 10. She married Roy D. Wright on Nov. 14, 1932, in Jayton. She was a housewife and a Baptist.

Her husband and a son, William Lloyd Wright preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Evelyn Umfress of Odessa and Wanda Wright of Spur; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
