Funeral services for William Henry Smith were held at Red Mud Church Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. J.C. Bilberry, a friend of the family, conducted the services. Interment followed in Red Mud Cemetery with Chandler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Al Bingham, Guy Merriman, T.F. Baze, R.G Maben, Jim Wyatt, Bill Wyatt, and J.L. Williamson.

Mr. Smith suffered a stroke Sunday and lived only a few minutes after the attack. His sudden death was a great shock to the family.

Among the survivors are his widow, Mrs. Mattie Smith; children: Merle Smith of Hatch, NM, Mrs. Edith Tankersley of Holt, CA; Alvin, Glenn, Tommie and Billie Smith, all at home; his parents, Mr. And Mrs. T.A. Smith, and two brothers, Frank Smith in New Mexico and Riley Smith of Catfish community.

Mr. Smith was born in San Saba County January 9, 1886.

He was a son of Mr. And Mrs. T.E. Smith who moved to this country many years ago. He was married to Miss Mattie Fuqua in the Red Mud community in 1905 and has made his home in that section ever since.

He was converted in 1907 and joined the Baptist Church. He remained a member until his death.
