Arthur Smith Buried Sunday

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 4, at the Bethel Baptist Church for Arthur McGee Smith.

Smith was born in Collin County, March 10, 1876, and died September 2. He had lived in Dickens County and Crosby County since 1891, and had lived in Spur since 1948.

He married Nora May Greer and they made their first home at Red Mud.

He was a member of the Kalgary Baptist Church.

Rev. J. E. Lee officiated, assisted by Rev. Wayne Grizzle, Crosbyton.

Survivors include the wife, two sons, B.A. Smith, Spur and P.E. Smith, Crosbyton, and two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Gilmore, Monroe, Oregon and Mrs. Jettie Scifres, Seligman, AZ. Eleven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers were Z.Mayo, Henry Slack, C.A. Shipman, Floyd Degraffenreid, Tom Williams and J.L. Williamson.

Interment was in the Red Mud Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
