Services for Thomas (Tommy) Eugene McArthur, Jr., 73, were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Highway 70 Church of Chris with Richard Trull, minister, officiating.

McArthur died January 11, about 2:20 p.m. 14 miles southwest of Spur near his Kent County Home. Kent County Justice of the Peace was called to the wscene. Death was due to an apparent heart attack.

A farmer and rancher, McArthur was born in Spur on January 7, 1915, and had lived all of his life in Kent County. He married Theda Butler on February 23, 1936, in Clovis, NM. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Theda McArthur, Kent County; a son, Richard McArthur, Kent County; (one son, Thomas E. McArthur III preceded him in death in 1941); one brother, Woodrow McArthur, Garza County.
