Memorial services for Lacy Buran Jones, a well-known Kalgary community resident, were at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Highway 70 Church of Christ in Spur. Officiating were Bob Brandon of Spur and Glen Gray of Crosbyton.Interment was made in Red Mud Ceetery, under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers were Harvey Cannon, Everett McArthur, Boney Winkler, Roy Don Winkler,Charles Sonnamaker and Darl Walker.
Mr. Jones was 83. He was claimed by death at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 7, 1899, in Comanche County, Mr. Jones had resided at Kalgary since 1941. He had spent most of his life in this general area.
The former Effie Williams and Lacy Buran Jones were married Sept. 18, 1920 in Spur.
Mr. Jones was a farmer and rancher.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and of the Dickens County Sheriff´s Posse.
Survivors include one son, Glenn Jones of Kalgary; one daughter, Doris Worley of Levelland; two sisters, Ethel Stockton of Hobbs, N.M., and Gladys Childress of LUbbock; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
