Funeral services were held Monday in the Cmapbell Funeral Chapel for George Washington Grubbs, 89, who died Saturday. Rev. Laverl Kite, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated.Mr. Grubbs first came to Dickens County in 1949 coming here from Kent County. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. G. W. Grubbs; three daughters, Mrs. Luther Spain and Mrs. Lawrence Fitzgerald, both of Spur; Mrs. Roy Savard, Ft. Worth; one son, Earl Grubbs, Electra; three sisters, Mrs. Lou Fisher, Hale Center; Mrs. Eddie Easterline, New Castle; Mrs. Fannie McCombs, Graham and one brother, Charley Grubbs, Yuma, Ariz.
Sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Horace Hyatt, Mraion Jordan, Billy Tom Wyatt, Gordon Cravey, Elmer Maben, Jerry Ensey, Bill Barrett and Jimmy Stewart.
Interment was in Red Mud Cemetery.

March 25, 1880--August 17, 1971 Spur (Special)-- Mrs. Audrey Grubbs, 91, died about 9 p.m. Tuesday here. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the Campbell Funeral Home chapel here. The Rev. Norris Taylor of the First Baptist Church of Spur will officiate. Burial will be at the Red Mud Cemetary near Spur under direction of Campbell Funeral Home. Mrs. Grubbs is survived by three daughters, Mrs. W. L. Fitzgerald and Mrs. Luther Spain, both of Spur, and Mrs. Ray Savard of Everman; a son, Earl Grubbs of Vernon; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Smith of Rogers; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
