Lonnie Fuqua

Funeral services were conducted for Lonnie B. Fuqua, 61, a resident of this community for the past 56 years, at 3 o'clock last Friday afternoon in the First Methodist Church.

Rev. C.M. Ryan of the Plains, Texas, Methodist Church officiated and was assisted by Rev. Doc Love of Spur.

Interment was in the Red Top Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Mr. Fuqua was a pioneer cattleman and farmer, having been a resident of the Red Mud community for many years. He died Wednesday, October 6, after suffering what was believed to have acute indigestion.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, A.N. and Ross, both of Red Mud; two daughters, Mrs. Doyle Fry of Spur and Mrs. Roy Lucas of Lampasas,; one brother, Ed of Greenville, N.M. and three sisters, Mrs. W.H. Smith and Mrs. G.W. Grubbs, Spur, and Mrs. Riley Smith of Rogers, Olka.

Pallbearers were J.B. Morrison, Bas Bateman, Giggs McCombs, Elmer Maben, Glenn Sweenie and Jimmy Stuart.
