J. Arthur Davis of west of Spur died Sunday after an illness of three weeks suffering of an abscess of the liver. He was brought to the Nichols Sanitarium where he underwent an operation Tuesday. However, the operation proved ineffective in relieving his condition. Mr. Davis leaves a wife and five children, the oldest being only twelve years of age. He held a membership in the Spur Mutual Life Insurance Association and the policy of one thousand dollars was paid immediately by Secretary Haile.

The Texas Spur extends sympathy to the bereaved family in their hour of great sorrow.

James Arthur Davis- born 6-27-1889 died 11-26-1923 husband of Clairence Chilton Felts-(she was reared by Walter and Addie Lewis who are also buried there).
