Funeral services for Mrs. Dora D. Childress, 88, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Assembly of God Church with Rev. Perry Sheffield, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. David Dyer, pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Childress died at her home here on January 27. She had been a resident of Spur since 1922. She was a member of the Church of Later Day Saints.

Survivors include three daughters, MRs. Irene Hunton, Bly, Ore.; MRs. Cora Spencer, Littlefield; Miss Carrie Childress, Spur; three sons, C. C. Childress, Lubbock; G. B. Childress, Medford, Ore.; Harvey Childress, Burnett; two brothers, W. M. Cox, Grand Junction, Colo.; David Cox, Broken Bow, Okla.; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Buran Jones, Clyde Smith, Sam Shackelford, Doug Hinson, Wallace Day and L. O. Smith.

Burial was in the Red Mud Cemetery.
