Graveside services for Emma Lorene Johnson Tedford, 92, of Lubbock and formerly McAdoo were held at 2:00 PM, Monday May 22, 2006 in the McAdoo Cemetery with the Rev. Les Griffin officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Lorene passed away Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Whisper-wood Care Center in Lubbock.

She was born November 25, 1913 in Comanche County to the late John and Emma (Syler) Powers. On January 20, 1934 she married Glen Veloy Johnson. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1949. She later married Edgar Tedford in 1954 in Crosbyton. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1976.

She was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church and a graduate of McAdoo High School. She worked at Wallace Dry Goods, the Crosbyton Lions Club, and the Crosbyton School lunchroom. She was a member of the Spur Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She moved to McAdoo in 1918.

She is preceded in death by a brother Otho Powers.

Survivors include three sons, Duane and wife Johnnie Johnson of Crosbyton, Jerry and wife Jeannie Johnson of Matador, and Dale Tedford of Plainview; a daughter and her husband, Louise and Bobby Thomason of Abernathy; a brother and his wife, Coy and Julia Powers of McAdoo; seven grandchildren, Max and Delayne Thomason of South Lake, Penny Pierce of Lubbock, Sharon and Rodney Cannon of Abernathy, Ronald and Kelly Johnson of Grapevine, Melissa and Ron Caporale of Lubbock, Todd and Michelle Johnson of Idalou, and Jeff and Mishie Johnson of Lubbock; and 15 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to Crosbyton First Baptist Church.
