AMARILLO (Special) Services for B. Nathan Pipkin, 73, of Amarillo will be at 5 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Grigsby and the Rev. John F. McClean officiating.
Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in McAdoo Cemetery under the direction of Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.
He died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at Baptist St. Andrews Hospice Home in Amarillo.
He was born Dec. 29, 1925, in McAdoo. He graduated high school in McAdoo. He attended McMurray College where he received his bachelor´s degree, Scarritt University where he received his master´s degree and Vanderbilt University. He was a United Methodist professional educator and worked in churches in Roswell, N.M., Port Arthur, Houston, San Angelo, Midland, Amarillo, Dumas, Albuquerque, N.M., and Mesa, Ariz. He was a veteran of World War II. He married Shirley Pipkin on Aug. 12, 1995.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lee of San Angelo and Scott of Quinlan; a brother, Lawrence of Smithville; a sister, Emma Winegar of The Colony; two granddaughters; and two step grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the organ fund of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Amarillo or First United Methodist Church of San Angelo.
