McAdoo - Mary Ruth (Tooke) Phifer, 72, of Lubbock
passed away on Aug. 13, 1989 at the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy
illness. She was born March 27, 1917 at Paris, TX. and moved to McAdoo with her
family in 193l. She married Willie Weldon Phifer Jan. 2, 1933 in McAdoo. �
Willie died May 5, 1985. Ruth and Willie moved from McAdoo to Lubbock after
they retired from farming around 1975.
Ruth was a member of the McAdoo Baptist Church.
Her survivors include two brothers, Goldie Tooke of Crane and Dexter Tooke of
Boring, OR.; two sisters, Lillian (Tooke) Milstead and Beulah (Tooke) Skelton,
both of �Pontotoc, MS.
