Biography

Lawson Henry and Lucy McWilliams moved to McAdoo from Duncan Flat in 1920. They bought a farm east of McAdoo. The house was close to the highway if you could call the dusty road that, and it was just as muddy when it rained. Mr. McWilliams has pulled many a car from the muddy ditch, always doing it without thought of pay, and if he ever complained no one ever heard it.

They were hard workers and always had one of the best crops in the country.

They had one daughter, Esta Faye (Wheeler), who lives at Proctor Lake. Benny McWilliams and wife live in Abilene. Raymond McWilliams and wife Ida live in Big Spring, Roscoe McWilliams who married Oma Grace Hickman is deceased. Lawson McWillams (Junior) and wife Betty live at Proctor Lake and Curtis McWilliams lives with wife Inez in Irving, Texas. One son died when a baby. Lucy McWilliams passed away in 1956.
