Thomas A. Harvey, a McAdoo resident for over a half century, was buried in McAdoo Cemetery following 2 p.m. memorial services in the McAdoo United Methodist Church. Officiating were the Rev. Lanny Wheeler, pastor and Rev. Luther Baker, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Roby.Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton directed arrangements.
The 96 year-old retired McAdoo farmer succumbed at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Crosbyton Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 7, 1880 in Altola, Alabama, he was married to Eunice Mae Bryant in 1916 in Slidell, TX. The couple moved to Dickens County in 1917 and to McAdoo two years later in 1919.
Mr. Harvey was a member of the McAdoo United Methodist Church. He joined the Methodist Church in 1906.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Harvey of McAdoo; two sons, Clarence Harvey of McAdoo and Floyd Harvey of Colorado Springs, CO; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hickison of McAdoo, Mrs. Jeanette Gage of Dallas, Mrs. Bertha Dorn of Spokane, WA, and Mrs. Susie McCandless of Odessa; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Nelley of Lubbock, Mrs. Jepple Johnston of Amarillo, Mrs. Grace Rinehart of Houston; 28 great grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; a number of great great grandchildren; and five great great great grandchildren.
Mr. Harvey was preceded in death by one son, Gayle Harvey and one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Gary.
