Obituary

Mrs. Billy (Tojuana Faye) Harris was claimed by death about 11:45 a.m. Monday in Baylor Hospital in Dallas. The 40 year old woman had suffered an extended illness.

Services were pending at press time with King Funeral Home here.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today (Thursday) in McAdoo Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Coffey of Abernathy, officiating. Rev. Bobby Myers, pastor, will assist. Burial will be in McAdoo Cemetery under direction of King Funeral Home.

The former Tojuana Faye Harris was a Spur native and her husband was reared at McAdoo. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Harris of McAdoo.

The family had resided in Dallas the past seven years.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Harris; three daughters, Mrs. Tojuana Joy Owens of Plains, Mrs. Kaye Elaine Guidry of Dallas and Kathy Louise Harris of the home; her mother, Mrs. J.R. Bishop of Hamlin; three sisters, Mrs. Merle Olson of Onawa, Io., Mrs. Billie Jean McCombs of Goldsmith and Mrs. Tom Meath of Midlothian; four brothers, Robert Wright of Jal, NM. Terrell Wright of Waxahachie and Bill Wright of Pasadena and J.C. Powell of Stanford.

William Charlie "Billy" Harris, 73, of Rusk and formerly of McAdoo passed away December 22, 2004 in Rusk. Graveside services will be at 10: AM, Saturday, January 15, 2005 at the McAdoo Cemetery with the Rev. Robby Harris, pastor of the McAdoo First Baptist Church officiating.

Billy was born September 6, 1931 in Kent County to Charlie and Fay Harris. He married Tojuana Faye "Toni" Wright in Spur in October, 1949.

He attended McAdoo Schools and worked at the Farmers Coop Gin before moving to Amarillo. He later moved to McKinney and worked with Texas Instruments until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, H.F. and one grandson Sean Michael.

Surivors include three daughters, Tojuana "T.J." Owens of Rusk, Kay Harris of Denver, CO, Kathy "Kat" Yankey of Aberdeen, NC, a brother, Donald of McAdoo, four sisters, Verlene Monck of Hamilton, Ontario, Wanda Kirk of Lubbock, Wilma Ward of Dougherty, Tommie McCormick of Hart, six grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to McAdoo Cemetery Association, Rt. 1, Box 127, McAdoo, Texas 79243 of or McAdoo Fire Dept. P.O. Box 79, McAdoo, Texas 79243.
