Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Paint Creek Baptist Church in Paint Creek, Texas with Rev. Tony Grand officiating and Rev. Robbie Harris assisting. A graveside will be at 3:00 p.m. at the McAdoo Cemetery in McAdoo, Texas under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned for Friday evening, January 8, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home located at 304 N. 2nd Street, Haskell, Texas.
Owen was born October 22, 1958 to Leo and Lillie (Shaw) Griffin in Spur, Texas.
He was employed by Red Diamond Trucking of Knox City, Texas and lived at Lake Stamford. He attended school at McAdoo, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leo Griffin.
Owen is survived by his three daughters, Audrey Freeman and husband Chris of Buffalo Gap, Texas, Nicole Griffin of Amarillo, Texas and Kelsey Griffin of Post, Texas; two sisters, Beverly Herrera and husband Manuel of Spur, Texas and Cheryl Adams and husband Harold of Dickens, Texas; one brother, Jerry Griffin and wife Judy of Brownwood, Texas; seven granddaughters; one grandson, and one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
