Guy Karr and Miss Louise Chandler Wed
Guy Karr and Miss Louise Chandler, popular young people of Spur, and well known in Crosbyton were united in marriage last Thursday week at the home of Rev. H.T. Harris in the Espuela community.
Mr. Karr is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Karr of the Espuela community, and nephew of R.E. Karr of Crosbyton. He is an employee in the postoffice at Spur. His bride is a member of the Spur school faculty.

Funeral services for Lois Marie Karr, 71, were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Ray, Fort Worth, officiating, assisted by Rev. Darwin Cox, local church pastor.Mrs. Karr died about 11:30 a.m. Friday after she apparently suffered a heart attack while she was in Hillcrest Beauty Salon for a hair appointment. Born Lois Marie Chandler on December 9, 1912 in Clovis, NM, she married Guy B. Karr on Febrary 9, 1933 in Espuela. A housewife, she had lived here since 1933, coming here from Stamford. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Guy Karr, Spur; one son, Dan Karr, Dallas; two sisters, Jamie Halverson, Santa Maria, CA and Gertrude Scott, Dallas; two grandchildren.
Burial was in Espuela Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Services for Guy B. Karr, 94, of Spur were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2001 at the First Baptist Church in Spur with Eric Swenson officiating. Masonic graveside rites were held at the Espuela Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.Mr. Karr died August 28, 2001 at the Crosbyton Hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1906, in Wolf City, Texas. He married Lois Marie Chandler on Feb. 9, 1933, in the Espuela community in Dickens County. She preceded him in death in 1984.
Mr. Karr was with the U.S. Postal Service for 44 years, 30 of those years he was the Postmaster in Spur. He was a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He had lived in Dickens County since 1912. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was treasurer for 30 years. He was a member of the Spur VFW and a mason with the Spur Masonic Lodge for more than 70 years. He was a former member of the Spur ISD Board of Directors and a member of the Spur Lions Club.
Survivors include his son, Dan Karr of Fort Worth; one brother, Ray Karr of Spur; one sister, Mary "Polly" Montgomery of Spur; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Espuela Cemetery Association, Route 1 Box 119, Spur, TX 79370, or Cal Farleys Boys Ranch in Amarillo, Texas.
