    MATADOR (Special) — Mass for Samuel L. Zarate, 31, of Dickens will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Ricardo Salditos, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Dickens Cemetery under direction of Seigler Funeral Home.

Zarate died at 10 p.m. Monday in Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Lubbock after an illness.

He was born in Dallas and served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Matador.

Survivors include his parents, Jesus and San Juana Zarate of Dickens; three brothers, Jesus Jr. of Riverside, CA; Andy of Dickens and Stephen of Burnet; and eight sisters, Benita Moreno of Matador, Isabel Barrera of Chihuahua, Mexico; Patty Hudson of Clarksville, KY; Mary Lou Burkes of Dallas; Alicia Jacobs of Fort Shaw, S. C., Yolanda Kautz of Dickens, Esther Tilley of Wichita Falls and Melinda Salazar of Spur.

Pallbearers will be Joe Hernandez, Joe Zarate Jr., Mickey Zarate, David Zarate, Robert Ramirez and Roy Moreno, Jr.
