Services for Clyde Durwood White, 68, were at 4 p.m. April 29, 1990 in the Dickens Baptist Church with Rev. C. L. Atkinson, pastor of the Afton Baptist Church, officiating.

White died April 27 about 6:10 a.m. in Afton, death was ruled due to natural causes. He was born October 9, 1921 in Dickens County. He had lived here most of his life. He was a self-employed carpenter.

He married Gerogia Marie Asberry on January 19, 1952 in New Mexico. She died July 11, 1979.

A member of the Baptist Church, he was also a Army veteran of World War II and was a prison of war in Germany.

He is preceded in death by three brothers. Wesley White, 1972; Alton (Chubby) White, 1981 and Buck White in 1980.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth White, Waco; Tony White, Monroe, California; one daughter, Snow Smith, Afton; three brothers, Kenneth White, Stockton, California; Tommy White, Losse; Virgil White, Canton; one sister, Annie Mae Payne, Lubbock; and seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Pallbearers included Billy Baker, Mark Elliott, Randall Elliott, Kenneth Elliott, Jr., Barney Bridge and Forest Combs.

Burial was in Dickens Cemetery with Campbell Funreal Home, Spur, in charge of arrangements.
