Stubblefield Rites Slated in Dickens
SPUR, Aug. 11 (Special) - Funeral services for Earnest Pierce Stubblefield, 33, former Spur resident who was killed in a plane crash while dusting crops near Buckeye, Ariz., early Thursday, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church at Dickens with the Rev. O. L. DeWess, former pastor, officiating.Burial will be in Dickens Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of Spur.
Stubblefield, a veteran of World War II, married Miss Helen Partridge here in 1944. They moved to Ulysses, Kan., several years ago. He operated a small airport there and a crop-dusting business.
Survivors besides his wife, include four young children, Janis, David, Carla and Linda; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Stubblefield, Dickens; two sisters, Mrs. Jackie Jackson, Dickens, and Mrs. Minnie Pearl Rorobaugh, Haskell, and a brother, William D., Salida, Colo.
Pallbearers will be Fred Houser, Roy McGlohon, Cliff Buckner, Rolo Ewers, Bart Ewers, Glen Popejoy and Ed Wilkins.
