Joseph w. married Margaret White. They left Mansfield, texas in 1900, moving to Dickens County. Their children were Minnie, Pink, Hugh, Rob, Mary, Warren, Alma and Frank. They settled in the New Hope Community four miles north from Dickens. Both my grandparents are buried in the Dickens Cemetery. He is a veteran of the Cival War.

My grandparents knew the hard times and good times spent in Dickens Counytty in the early days. They loved to go to Dickens to the "picnics."
