Blood Clot Fatal To E.I. Schillings: Funeral Sunday
Funeral services for Earnest Iley Schillings, Dickens, were held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Dickens Baptist Church with Ennis Hill conducting the rites.Schillings, who died of a blood clot in the heart muscle, Friday, was born Jan. 24, 1895 in Shelby Co. to Mr. and Mrs. Dennis I. Schillings.
A resident of Dickens Co. for the past four years, Schillings became affiliated with the Baptist church at the age of 19.
He is survived by his wife; three sons: Lloyd V., navy; Spencer W., army and Douglas of Houston; three daughters: Evelyn Singletary, Houston; Betty Rae Wilson, Miss Curcie Mae Schillings, Ok. City. 3 brothers, 1 sister; 2 stepsons, Charles and James Meadows, 75 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were W. T. Wilson; Otho Thompson, Norval Rogers, A.C. Sharp, W.D. Lowry and Billie Byars Sharp.
Flower bearers were Miss Eloise Sharp, Polly Harvey, Joyce Williams and Mary Harvey. Burial in Dickens Cemetery.
