Rites Are Read for Howard K. Richey

 Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church, Spur, Sunday, July 26 at 3 p.m. for Howard Kennedy Richey. Bro. T.B. Allen officiated, assisted by two other ministers.

Howard was born in Dickens County October 2, 1919. He died at his residence in Croton community on July 24, 1953.

He was married to Willis Pritcherd October 2, 1946 at Croton. He was converted and united with the Baptist Church at an early age and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church at the time of his death. He graduated from Patton Springs School and then attended Texas Tech four and one half years before being called into the Army. He entered the Army in 1942 and served 41 months.

Richey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Willie Richey, one son, Howard Wayne, one daughter, Brenda Ruth, his parents. Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Richey and five sisters.

Pallbearers were Abe Brendle, R.L. Allen, Herman Bostic, Bob Porter, Wright Martin and David Smiley. Flower girls were Mrs. Frank Murphy, Mrs. Marion Hurst, Mrs. E.J. Nichols, Mrs. Olive ______, Mrs. Mae Williams and Mrs. Charlie Gage.

Interment was in the Dickens Cemetery with Chandler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
